Cliff’s Raises $37,758.71 for the MDA of Central New York

UTICA NY, March 24th, 2023 – Cliff’s Local Market is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) campaign, which ran from February 1st to March 17th. With great pride, Cliff’s Local Market has exceeded its fundraising goal of $35,000, thanks to the hard work and dedication of its staff, as well as the generous donations from the public. The total amount of donations collected throughout the campaign is an impressive $37,758.71.

Throughout the campaign, customers were invited to purchase the iconic paper pin-up for a $1 or $5 contribution at check-out. The pin-ups were then signed and prominently displayed in each store, symbolizing strength, independence, and life for MDA families in the community.

All local funds raised from the campaign will directly benefit area children with Muscular Dystrophy, enabling them to attend MDA summer camp where they will meet campers just like them. The MDA summer camp provides children with Muscular Dystrophy a week of fun, friendship, and independence in an environment specially designed for their unique needs.

Cliff’s Local Market would like to express its sincere gratitude to everyone who supported the MDA campaign. With your generous contributions, we can continue to provide life-changing support and services for those living with Muscular Dystrophy.

About MDA
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has been devoted to improving the lives of individuals affected by muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases for over 70 years. Our efforts are centered around advancing scientific research and enhancing care practices. With over $1 billion invested in neuromuscular disease research to date, we are the largest non-governmental funder of such research worldwide. Our research initiatives have been instrumental in discovering life-changing therapies for several neuromuscular diseases. MDA’s MOVR platform is the first and only data center that collates clinical, genetic, and patient-reported data for multiple neuromuscular diseases, resulting in improved health outcomes and faster drug development. We support a vast network of multidisciplinary clinics providing top-notch care at over 150 of the country’s top medical facilities. Our Resource Center offers personalized, one-on-one assistance to those in need, and we organize educational conferences, events, and resources for families and healthcare providers. MDA Advocacy works towards providing equitable access to our community. Each year, thousands of children and young adults acquire vital life skills and independence through our summer camps and recreational programs, which are offered at no cost to families.
