Clifford Fuel is once again partnering with the MDA to raise money for research and to help local children with muscular dystrophy through the sale of shamrocks in our stores.
There are kids and adults here in our community and across the country living with muscular dystrophy and related diseases that take away everyday abilities like walking, running, hugging,
getting dressed independently and even talking and breathing. These diseases weaken their muscles, including one of our most important muscles — the heart. They are life-threatening,
and today we have few treatments and no cures.
MDA is working to change that and free the incredible families they serve from the devastating effects of these diseases so they can live longer and grow stronger. Money raised from the MDA
Shamrocks program allows the MDA to fund research for treatment and cures and helps children in our community go to the MDA Summer Camp.
MDA Summer Camp provides thousands of kids with muscular dystrophy and related life-threatening diseases “the best week of the year.” MDA’s nearly 75 weeklong summer camps — offered at no charge to families thanks to our supporters who fund the camps — give kids with limited muscle strength and mobility a life-changing experience in an environment without barriers. It’s a week where they’re free to enjoy adventures like horseback riding, swimming and fishing, develop lifelong friendships and build self-confidence and independence that are critical to living longer and growing stronger.
Last year Clifford Fuel raised more than $30,000 for the MDA and helped send Aiden to the MDA Summer Camp. Aiden is the New York State MDA Goodwill Ambassador this year and he is from right here in Central New York. Click here to learn more about Aiden.
